The Village Voices

The Village Voices meet on Monday evening either at St Peter and St Paul Church, Hoxne in the summer or St Edmund’s Hall, Hoxne in the winter. The Village Voices is a community choir open to all, regardless of ability or previous singing experience. The object of the choir is to demonstrate that social singing is fun yet challenging. Songs are taught by ear and there is no need to be able to read music.  We are based in Hoxne but have members from eighteen villages and one city. Friendly and welcoming – come along and give us a try. No Audition.

Walking and Woods

Brakey Wood

Brakey Wood is a 17 acre deciduous wood, planted in 1999 and 2000 as a result of a successful Millennium partnership

between Hoxne Village and the Woodland Trust. The wood is always open, with access from the small car park off Wittons Lane near Chickering Beck, and by public footpaths from Cross Street and Low Street.  The Hoxne Man, a large carved oak statue of a paleolithic man, can be found in the wood.
